For my current event I decided to write about just last night when we were at the Dhoom restaurant of fine dining. Me and my entire family had gotten together in celebration of my dad’s older brother’s( my thaiya’s) anniversary. To start off the night we all got together and got seated and conviently enough the Canucks game was coming on. We all had some awesome appetizers one at a time and to top it all off our waitress was hilarious. Plus every time the Canucks scored a goal you could hear the sweeping sound of forty people cheering loudly and banging on the tables. But luckily the people at the restaurant were pretty nice about it and we didn’t break anything. The event wasn’t to formal but nevertheless I as a kid obviously prefer wearing normal clothing to a fancy done up suit. All of us ended up talking and laughing and just having fun till about one thirty AM when the poeple at the restaurant had to close up. It was an awesome night and I will definetly remember it till they celebrate their next fifty years I wonder how that’ll turn out…

For my response to a current event I am writing about the police officer who shot and killed a homeless man who had pulled out a knife and was about to attack the officer. Many people are saying that it was the officer’s fault because he shouldn’t have pulled out a weapon unless the homeless man had actually physically harassed him first. I however chose to disagree with this statement because there is no point in waiting till the homeless man had stabbed the officer to take actions. When someone pulls out a weapon then their intentions of hurting another person become quite obviously clear. An innocent police offcier could have been seriously injured or who knows maybe even killed if he had not taken action against this man when he did! Besides noone in their right mind would kill someone if they had the choice not to right? The officer is probably terrified and immensely sorry of the outcome of events. That is my reason for thinking that the police officer is innocent. What do you think is he innocent or guilty of killing a homeless man?

Our fieldtrip to the courthouse started off with a long monotonous wait in line in the freezing cold, we waited there for approximately thirty minutes before we all began filing in and passing through the security checkings. After that we all went to the first floor at the bottom of the courthouse where we were led to by the worker that was helping us out that day. After giving us all a brief explanation of what we’d be doing and letting us know what the appropriate behaviour for court was we were put into groups and set us off into the courthouse. With nothing but enthusiasm, curiousity, a map, and a list of the trials we were allowed to listen in too we left the room in which we had been brought then were set freeto go out and explore the courthouse. The first couple of courtrooms we peeked into looked like they had been adjourned, on the upper floor when we found a trial that we could atend that was in session however right after we entered we had to leave. Court was adjourned and would be back after a brief break at eleven o’clock. For awhile we sat down and played some games on a bench silently we waited till it was eleven sharp then we went back to the courtroom we had been in previously. The judge had been delayed so after waiting there for ten minutes we were informed that we’d have to wait for ten to twenty more minutes maybe so we decided to come back later. Then we went back to the bottom floor where some trials had begun we first went to a trial in one of the larger courtrooms but since this room was so large we couldn’t hear what the jude and the people were saying from all the way across the room. We left this trial after about five minutes and moved on to watching our second trial which was about a man who had robbed a recreational center. Our third and final trial that we were able to watch before lunchtime was a trial about a Figian man who was twenty seven I believe he was married to an eighteen or nineteen year old Caucasian girl and they had one female child together. The issue was that the man had returned home drunk one night and beat his wife and child we aren’t sure what the conclusion to this trial was because unfortunately we had to leave for lunch. After enjoying a scrumptious lunch we were energized and ready to go with cloaks, ties and other props for ourmock trial. Our mock trial was loads of fun it allowed us to take initiative and was an excellent learning experience. The role playing really helped me to better underdstand the court process and let me tell you real life court is nothing like the court they show on TV. At the end of the day I went home full of new knowledge and ideas I could’ve never had without this life changing experience of having a fieldtrip to the courthouse.

How I   Ended up Meeting the President of the United States of America

A Twist on Dinner

Crazy a completely and totally dedicated fanatic fan these words couldn’t even begin to cover how I Sam Parker ( Short for Samantha Ann Louise Parker) feel about Mr. Barack Obama the man who will soon be governing the United States of America. I cannot believe it his inauguration is going to be on January, 20th, 2009 a week from now and I am not going to be there! Now for any normal kid who was just another Obama fan the fact that they lived in Surrey BC Canada far away from Washington DC might have been a problem but I will be at that inauguration and I will witness history in the making as the first black president is inaugurated. No matter what I may have to do to get there. I’ve already entered fifty draws, thirteen coloring challenges, and three of the world’s most difficult crosswords hoping that it maybe if it was written in my fate I would win a chance to see Barack Obama up close and personal. Which is so much simpler than my alternative PLAN B which would be sneaking in to meet the president the main man the head honcho. Oops sorry got kind of carried away there. I’ve also been researching the life and career of Barack Obama for the past couple of days so that when I meet him it’ll sort of be like I already know him theoretically. Oh and I’ve already practiced the pledge of allegiance countless times to make sure I’ve got it just right.

“Hey Sam clean up and come downstairs dinners ready.” I took a deep breath in and exhaled, I was trying to be clam but the excitement was plain on my face. I quickly checked the calendar to make sure that I wasn’t hallucinating. Yup I was pretty sure Tuesday at dinnertime that had been the deal. My mother had promised me that today she would finally tell me whether or not we would be attending the inauguration. I went over to the sink and turned the tap on until the water came out ice cold; I cupped some in my palms and splashed my face a couple of times to get rid of all signs of excitement or nervousness. Although the water may have cleared all signs of excitement it had obviously done nothing to rid me of the butterflies I had. I half ran down the stairs and slid into my seat folding my hands and acting like a perfect little angel. (Luckily it was only acting I mean c’mon perfect little angel ya right.)

Anyway I was the first one at the table followed by my dad who was wearing a candy bracelet. Oh man tough break for me my mom had made her disgusting unidentifiable meatloaf that looked more like nuclear waste. Lucky for my dad he had remembered to wear a candy bracelet so that he could slide a couple of candies by every time he felt like gagging. Sadly I didn’t know if I would survive past dinnertime to hear the news or meet Obama. Holy mackerel what was that wretched smell? Oh man I saw my mom approaching the table with a plate full of meatloaf smiling hugely at me and my dad hoping to encourage us into trying her so called food. I couldn’t decipher the look on my dad’s face but it looked like a mixture of contortion and immense pain. The same look someone would have if they had someone ran over their pinky toe with a monster truck. My mom ignored the expression on my dad’s face and focused the full power of her deathly white smile on me hoping that I might feel generous enough to be the first one to ever take a second helping of her meatloaf.

“Hey guys guess what we’re having tonight?” Wow amazing it was as if our pure disgust towards her so called cooking had left her enthusiastic mood completely untouched.

“More nuclear waste.” mumbled my dad killing her mood. My mom continued ignoring him along with his snide remarks and turned to me for a response.

“Is it more of your delicious meatloaf?” I asked in a low sarcastic monotone. “Ding, ding, ding we have a winner!” she sang. “I hope you guys brought your appetites tonight because you are in for one heck of a meal. Oh and there is a little bit of a twist to it because whoever finishes their meatloaf vegetables and piece of store bought apple pie first wins. Now listen up because this is the catch if you Samantha Parker finish first we are going to the presidential inauguration in Washington DC compliments of your fantastic mother. However if you John Parker (short for Jonathan Henry Parker III) finish the course first then we are buying the new sixty inch plasma TV!” Suddenly our heads lifted simultaneously as we gained interest in our dinner. Luck for me I hadn’t eaten much today and I was starving. My dad and I turned to face each other as we shook hands we also gave each other sly smirks.

“Ok you guys on the count of three you may begin, oh and when you complete your meal you can place your dishes in the sink to signify your completion. Alright one- two – three GO!” as my mom choked out the last word me and my dad dug into our meatloaf barely stopping to chew or breathe.

PLAN B

“Alright you two this was a very close call but sadly close only counts in horseshoes. Anyway Sam your father for probably the first time in his life has won something fair and square so we are going to buy the new sixty inch plasma TV!” It was like slipping into an instant come, I couldn’t believe the news as my mother announced it but now I knew that all hope was lost. As my dad was running around cheering and celebrating I went up to my room and for a while I just lay there silent- thinking; listening to the toll of the clock.

That was when it hit me PLAN B, it was the only possible way left for me to go to Washington plus if I took a couple of bills from my dad’s wallet and combined it with the money in my piggy bank. Um did I say I had a piggy bank I meant my wallet why would I have a piggy bank I mean those are for little kids. Anyway I’d need to plan this as smoothly as possible everything would have to go off without a hitch. If my parents found out that I was doing this they could stop me before I even got to the airport I could see it happening now, me about to board the plane when I see my parents running around the corner coming to get me. Then they see me they begin to approach me I run for the door I’m about to board the plane when a security guard comes after me I’m trapped and forced to go home. Oh man my mind was already starting to cramp up now I knew of the stress that twelve year old masterminds like me had upon them. I had jitters running through me, and my excitement was at an unexplainably high level. I would have to buy a one way ticket to Washington DC, and of course I would have to stay at a five star hotel think big right? Then from there I would use my expertise in sneaking around and getting in on the dish to find out where the president would be staying prior to the inauguration. I would get a room at whichever hotel he was staying at and I’d use the vent systems to get to him. Wow this was like one of those crazy stories that parents tell their children and their grandchildren when they grow up. It felt so odd like I was having some sort of a massive dreamlike rush like this was my crazy story that I’d tell someone someday. The feelings I was having were unparalleled totally psychotic, incredible undeniable and above all extremely intense. It was all happening so quickly. I closed my eyes and lay still in my bed I was already beginning to get slightly nauseous and a little dizzy. I didn’t move an inch as I drifted off to sleep slowly calmly heavenly…

One day later…

One flight later…

The Hyatt Hotel

Wow, the posh life was pretty amazing. The huge chandeliers the spiral staircase and the endless floors it was all so perfect. My picturesque day dreams were interrupted when a tourist bumped into me breaking my focus.

“Oh I am so sorry.” oh my god standing before me was a guy who looked to be about my age except the only difference between us was that he looked like a Greek god and had a beautiful accent and I was well I was boring old simple accent less me. I decided it was better not to get side tracked with falling for anyone so I just nodded curtly and went to the check in desk with my bags.

“Um excuse me which room is the biggest in the entire hotel.” I asked trying to sound as charming as possible just like the people in the old movies. “The King Neptune suite or in this case Queen Neptune.” He said chuckling

“ Alright then I’ll have one King Neptune suite and I’ll just leave my bags here I’m sure you can handle them just have them brought up to my suite along with an ice cream sundae and something suitable to wear for a black tie occasion in a size two.” Oh my god it was so much fun being able to dazzle people like this. It was so thrilling being able to have whatever you wanted.

“Excuse me do you know where the entrance to the star studded lounge is?” asked a peculiarly familiar voice.

“Ya sure I think its right next to the sunset restaurant.” I swung around to see him standing behind me there he was right before my eyes Mr. Barack Obama. I couldn’t say another word I froze before him.

“Thank you.” he said. Before he could turn away I had to think of something anything that would make him stay something that might make him oh I don’t know want to give me a ticket to the inauguration. If let’s just say I was feeling lightheaded and I fainted he would have to watch over me that is if he had a heart and something told me that the president I knew would surely be a caring person. I slipped back as casually as I could and I slowly fell closing my eyes. Oh my god someone get some water I could hear voices and the hotel employees shouting then all of a sudden I was being carried but I didn’t dare open my eyes I just allowed the stranger whoever he or she may be to carry me all the way to the inauguration because my plan would surely work.

Rewards

With great victory comes great sacrifice.”

“Don’t worry Mr. President I just know that she’ll be alright.” said a reassuring voice. Holy crow the president was worried about me just another ordinary kid man my plan must’ve worked even better than I thought. I decided that I had been down long enough oh man I couldn’t believe it I had completely lost track of time I could’ve be asleep for who knows how long they must be worried sick. It was definitely time to put an end to this whole charade and call it quits maybe if I just told the truth he would understand it still wasn’t too late.

“Mom, dad are you there?” I said in the softest sweetest voice I could. “Oh finally your awake,” Oh my god it was him! I opened my eyes slowly to see him sitting right in front of me. He leapt up and walked towards me his forehead creased with lines of fret and worry.

“Now I just wanted to make sure that you were okay we had to go through your bag to find out who you are and when I asked the man at the desk he said that you told him your parents told you they’d meet you now is this true Samantha if I may call you that.” he questioned. Time to come clean I thought. I took a deep breath in.

“Well Mr. Obama if I may call you that the truth is that well you may want to take a seat this is a long story.” “I’ve got nothing but time.” he said sitting down at the edge of the bed.

“Well see it all started a week ago when it was dinnertime my mom was going to tell me whether or not we could come to Washington to see your inauguration because I am your greatest admirer. I guess admiration would be the only right way to explain it since I don’t really want to use the word fan. Anyway she set up this little contest between me and my dad and whoever finished her meatloaf that tastes like nuclear waste vegetables and a piece of apple pie first would win. If I won we would come to Washington but if my dad won we would buy a new TV. When my dad won I decided that I couldn’t let that get in my way. So I got a one way ticket to Washington I have no idea what my parents must be thinking back home but I couldn’t risk calling them either because I didn’t want them to come here and get me so now here I am. I guess now that you know my story your going to send me back.” Wow it felt like a boulder had been lifted off of my shoulders and I felt better than I had in days.

“Well Samantha I appreciate that you think so highly of me and I am definitely going to have to give your parents a ring but since you came clean and told me the truth today I am going to do you a favor by inviting you and your parents to the inauguration. How does that sound?” he asked ecstatically.

“To good to be true.” I replied. I guess honesty really is the best policy I thought. Telling the truth always has its own rewards.

One phone call later…

One flight to Washington later…

“Well honey I have to hand it to you thinking big really does have its rewards.” said my mom to me over the cheering crowd. Here we were at the inauguration. Oh man my dad was talking to the president of the United States of America talk about embarrassing. I would never live this down. Everything had worked out perfectly I had gone to the inauguration and sat in the presidents V.I.P box plus he had also invited us to dinner at the white house he would sent a plane over for us personally. I smiled inwardly knowing that this was my crazy story and it had just been completed…

Barack Hussein Obama II

We waited, time faded and some began to falter until… Finally the day we’ve all waited for, some longer than others the day that a black man would become president of the most influential country in the world. Barack Obama was the one who made this dream a reality for thousands no millions of people worldwide! He was the one who became the most powerful man in the free world. Barack Obama is the first African American man to become the president of the United States of America, and he’s the forty fourth president of the United States. The significance of this event is unparalleled. It is probably one of the most unbelievably special and celebrated events in the history of the United States. I heard that between

the hundreds of parties that happened in America on January 20th, 09 not one person got into a fight or was arrested! Can you believe it? I guess the people were just so happy to ultimately have a government and a president that really was by the people, and for the people. A government that would listen to what the people had to say and respond. Barack Obama has exceeded the people’s expectations, he just got right too it his first day on the job going after all the things he wanted for his people and his country. Hopefully the U.S.’ debt issue will be resolved and the economy repaired now that Obama has come to the rescue. Obama’s slogan for his campaign “Yes you can” was very inspirational for many people including me. I think that the world has just been left speechless with happiness, happiness for Obama and for everyone. A lot of pressure is being put on Mr. Obama because everyone in the world is watching him expecting him to make things better and I think that he is the one man who really can make a difference but I guess we’ll just have to wait and see what sort of miracles Obama can bring. Keep your fingers crossed!

My Opinion

I thought that the novel the Amish

Adventure was alright or slightly

above average. The things I

liked most about the novel were

the great scenes of emotion in it

and, I also thought that the sense

of mystery in the novel was what

kept me on edge and persuaded

me to really read the novel.

(Besides the fact that I would

probably fail novel study if I didn’t

read it.)There were some parts

where I would be so surprised by

something because a lot of events

in the book really just come out of

nowhere. One of these surprising

parts was when Ian was at Aunt

Clem’s house and he decided that

he was going to climb out of the

window and run away. All in all if I

were to give The Amish Adventure

a rating out of five stars I would give

the novel three out of five stars.

Characters

Some of the main characters in the

Novel; The Amish Adventure are Ian

McDonald Andrew McDonald Aunt

Clem Ezra Bender Jonah Bender,

and Reuben Bender. If the Amish

Adventure was to be made into a

major motion film I think that the

following actors would get the roles

of the main characters…

Ian McDonald- Rupert Grint

Andrew McDonald- Mark Williams

Aunt Clem- Helen Mirren

Ezra Bender- Bruce Greenwood

Jonah Bender- Charlie Sheen

Reuben Bender- Josh Hutcherson

Main Events

There are six main events that came

to my attention as the major turning

points in the novel The Amish Adve-

nture. The first event was when Jack

Turner hit the horse and buggy and

Ian had to stay with the Amish for a

few days until his Aunt Clem came

to pick him from the farm. In these

few days Ian begins to understand

the Amish and after a while he has

his heart set on staying with them.

The second event was when Ian’s

Aunt Clem showed up at the farm

and took Ian away forcefully. The

third turning point was when Ian

decided that he would climb

down the tree next to the window

in the room Aunt Clem had given

him and run away back to the farm.

The fourth event was when Ian was

at the farm and he called his father

and his father told him to stay at the

farm and that he was coming there.

The fifth major event was when Ian

called his father a while later and his

father said that he’d be getting to

the farm by Thanksgiving day. His

father also tells him that when he

gets there then he’ll get Ian settled

into a boarding school. The sixth and

final major event is when Andrew

McDonald Ian’s father tells Ian that

he can stay at the farm with the Amish.

Setting

The Amish Adventure takes place in

many miscellaneous locations. At first

Ian and his father lived in an apart-

ment building in Chicago. When Ian’s

father has to go to the Northwest

Territories for work then Ian has to go

live with his Aunt Clem in Toronto.

When a man named Jack Turner is

driving Ian to his aunts home he gets

into an accident and Ian has to stay

at an Amish farm on the outskirts of

a city called Kitchener.

Summary of the novel

In The Amish Adventure a boy

named Ian McDonald lives along

with his father Andrew McDonald

in an apartment in Chicago. Ian

and his father move frequently

because of Andrew’s career.

Unfortunately for Ian this time

Andrew can’t take him along

to the Northwest Territories

where he’s going to work. For

the six months Andrew’s going

to be spending in the Northwest

Territories Ian has to stay with his

Aunt Clem in Toronto. But Ian

absolutely loathes his aunt. The

morning Ian’s leaving he finds

out that a man named Jack

Turner will be escorting Ian to his

Aunt’s house. In the terrible

weather Jack Turner continues

to be careless and ends up

hitting a horse and buggy. It

turns out that the buggy owner

is an Amish man. The police

officer that arrives at the scene

knows the Amish man and a

kind lady who is also Amish says

that Ian can stay at the farm

until all the trouble is sorted out.

Ian has dinner with the Amish,

and a lady named Aunt Lydia

tells Ian that he can sleep with

Reuben in his room. In the little

while Ian stays with the Amish

he begins to grow close to them

and understand them better.

Even Reuben who seemed like

a quiet reserved boy had easily

become great friends with Ian.

A while later Ian’s Aunt Clem

shows up at the farm. When Ian

says that he wants to stay at the

farm then Aunt Clem ignores

his remarks completely and takes

Ian away forcefully. When Ian

arrives at Aunt Clem’s home he

continues to ignore her. When

Ian refuses to speak to Aunt Clem

she is furious with him. She tells

him to go to his room and let her

know when he’s ready to apologize

to her. While in his room Ian thinks

about the night him and Reuben

climbed out of the window and

down the tree. That’s when the

idea hits him Ian decides to climb

out the window and down the tree

next to his room and then escape

to the farm. Ian gets a subway

ticket with the twenty dollars he had

left in his pocket. After he arrives

at his stop he finds a diner and has

a bite to eat. For a while he just

walks around until he finds a

deserted home with a tent outside

of it and he sleeps the night there.

The next morning he hitches a ride

to Kitchener with a truck driver,

and from there he walks to the farm.

On the way he stops by a cafe

where he hears two boys talking

about rouging up the Amish. Ian

stands up for them, and gets into

a squabble with the two boys.

When Ian arrives at the farm

Reuben is there to greet him and

tell him how much trouble he’s in.

Police officer Higgins tells Ian to

call his father and ask him what

he’s to do. Ian’s father tells Ian

that he’ll get down to the Bender’s

farm as soon as he can. Once

he’s gotten there they can make

a decision about where Ian will

be staying. Things at the farm are

in a troubled state when Ian

arrives and Reuben tells him that

they have to sell the farm. Reuben

shows Ian the new horse that they

bought. While Reuben is telling

Ian about the horse the boy Ian

saw at the cafe Pete came by

and threw a rock at Lightning the

horse. The next day Ian goes to

call his Aunt Clem and John Bender.

John tells Ian that he’ll come and

pick him up in half an hour from

the telephone booth. After a while

Ian sees a car coming and Pete

is the boy in the car to Ian’s surprise

he says that he wants to fight Ian.

But that’s when John shows up and

gets him to back off. Ian tells John

about Ezra’s legs and how they have

to sell the farm and everything else.

John tells Ian why the decision is so

hard for him to make. At supper

that evening Gravy Dan tells Ian that

there’s an article in the newspaper

about him. Ian is thrilled. The next

day Ezra is finally back from the

hospital. The next morning Ian goes

to an Amish school, with Reuben

when Pete is driving by he sees Ian

there and starts bothering him and

he threatens to burn down one of

the Amish’s barns. When Ian gets

back from school he finds a letter

from his father telling him that he’ll

be there in two days just in time for

Thanksgiving day.  When Andrew

arrives Ian is happy to have

his father back. During supper

time Andrew McDonald tells every

one some stories about his experi-

ences in the Northwest Territories.

That night Ian’s father tells him that

he’s taking Ian to a boarding school

and getting him settled in, in the

morning. Ian tells Reuben what his

father told him. After a while when

Ian and Reuben are staying up and

talking they find out that the barn

is on fire! Ian and Reuben go to

rescue the animals. Ezra Bender is

left behind trying to save the animals

Ian drags him out of the barn. That

night Ian tells his dad everything

about what happened with Pete Moss.

After they get things settled down

the next day Andrew tells Ian that he

can stay at the farm and learn more

with the Benders. In the end John

comes back and everything works

out. Ian gets to stay and The Benders

don’t have to sell their farm anymore.

So everyone gets their happily ever

after…

My Opinion

Bang boom bam having the sounds of guns and bombs going off around you would be a very frightening thing to hear. Wouldn’t it? Many of you may have heard about the attack in Mumbai, India. Well if you haven’t then keep your ears open because in the next little while you’re probably going to be hearing quite a bit of talk about the attack. One hundred and seventy two people which had included twenty two foreigners had been massacred in this fatal attack. The reign of terror which had lasted for four and half days was the cause of Islamic extremists across the border. The reason of their attack was to stop Indian rule in Kashmir, but instead of discussing this matter like mature adults these mindless terrorists had decided to snatch the lives of hundreds of innocent civilians. I think that this show of aggression was nothing more than a childish stunt for attention. I mean haven’t these people ever been told by someone that violence IS NOT the answer. The world and especially the idiotic terrorists, and also the brainless governments should really take this quote seriously. If the whole world stopped violence then together we could achieve so much more. If there was no violence India would not have formed a rule over Kashmir, then these thick-headed terrorists would not have attacked. So if you think about it then in the end this entire attack could have been prevented if the Indian government had not formed a rule over Kashmir. Which just goes to show that nomatter how much the news papers and news channels may tell you it’s all the terrorists fault, it’s usually the governments fault. Or like a child would have put it “Well, it’s not our fault they started it.”

The article I had selected was titled Retired doctor, nurse killed in terror attack. The article focuses on the basic information about the attack in Mumbai, India. The attack was planned by Islamic extremists across the border in Pakistan, approximately one hundred seventy two people perished in the attack and around twenty two of those people were foreigners. The main area of the attack was The Taj Hotel. U.S. and Indian officials had told the public that they thought that the attackers were from the Pakistan based terrorist group called Lashkar-e- Taiba. The attack was established to fight against Indian rule in Kashmir. To wrap up the article they write about Michael Moss a retired doctor from Montreal and a retired nurse Elizabeth Russell both of whom had been slaid in the attack. Most of the information in the article was the same information that had been in many other articles in the end it’s usually all about how terrible the terrorists were but this attack was the fault of the government as muchas it was the fault of the terrorists.

For my current event I chose to write about a day that will go down in history as the day Barrack Obama was elected the first African American president of The Untied States of America. No doubt years from now when people go back in history they will remember this day when a black man was elected president. A feat many people had thought to be hopeless and unfeasible till the afternoon of November, 4th, 2008. Obama’s story is one that is not only going to color the history of The United States and the world forever but one of great inspiration that shows us that you really can do anything if you put your mind to it. Barack Obama has faced a difficult life that makes him who he is today he has faced drugs, endless racism from many individuals, and so much more. His own personal history has been both coloured and stained with so many cherish able and painful memories. He has faced things that many of us couldn’t and wouldn’t even dream about facing. His life his time wasn’t nearly as easy to live through as the present time we live in now. Barack Obama in my opinion is as close to the perfect presidential candidate we will get he can relate too many of the citizens on a level that John McCain could never hope to. When he became president in his speech the short part of it I had listened to he had said that I am everyone’s president. The reason this caught my attention was because he had said that he wouldn’t only take the ideas and suggestions of the people who had voted for him but also the people who hadn’t voted for him he wanted everyone’s ideas of what they thought would make The United States a better stronger country. This will always be one of the major reasons for his success. I am honoured to have been fortunate enough to live in a time where I got to witness history being made. I lived to see the day when women and people of different color had the right to vote, a day when a black man became president, a day where your hopes and dreams could become reality much more easily. If you follow your visions your ambitions and you continue to try as hard as you possibly could there is no logical reason for you not to succeed.
